Balance in Movement combines the knowledge of classical riding with modern physiotherapy and kinesiology

Susanne von Dietze clinic

It is a method that is based on the principles of rhythm, balance and suppleness creating harmony in the movement. My own riding skills developed hugely during my physiotherapy studies and I realized that this knowledge was missing in the equestrian training. I wrote the first edition of the book "Balance in Movement" in 1993 shortly after my physiotherapy exam. Most riding manuals describe how it should be, but not now how to get there. Balance in Movement gives answers to why and how riding is learned and performed.

Balance in Movement is essential for all equestrian
disciplines and skill levels. It empowers beginners
to master fundamental movements correctly from
the start, enables advanced riders to precisely analyze
and improve their seat for lighter, more effective aids,
and gives trainers the tools to better understand and
teach complex movement patterns.

Correct training does not need strength. Instead it requires balance and quick coordination paired with knowledge and understanding. For the horse, correct timing of the aids is more important than how strongly they are applied.
